Thanks for the memories that you have evoked because of this wonderful site!. My Grandparents, Roy and Myrtle Overstreet lived in Elmer before my Grandfather's death. They were neighbors of Arthur and Lena Drake. Uncle William and Aunt Emma Overstreet had lived their many years with many good memories of times long past! . Nelba Shockley sent me this site, I cannot begin to tell you how much it has meant to me to read about this town that has always held such a special place in my heart. Dr. Gooch was the doctor that delivered me at my Grandparent's farm close Goldsberry almost 80 years ago. Thank you for so unselfishly sharing so much and for your archivisit's efforts that are definitely non pariel.

You are my hero John Mathis creating an Elmer Website !! Hope it catches on like wildfire. Many excellent memories in and around Elmer. And naturally some sad ones too. With Halloween just passing, I'm wondering if anyone remembers the Halloween that a truck load of corn cobs got dumped on the Main Street drag. It was setting loaded down at the grain elevator with the key in it. Not sayin I drove nor did I pull the lever to dump it. Funniest thing about it all was Mr. Cain using his scare tactic the next day at school saying if someone didn't confess the FBI might investigate. Still a great Elmer mystery! Fun times. Anyone remembers the goats getting put on the roofs above the stores every Halloween. Can't remember who the man's name was that owned and milked goats ? Okay and thanks Jim Bergmann.

Thank you for putting this site together. Just thinking about Elmer brings back alot of memories for me. My aunt and uncle Bill and Emma Overstreet lived there and I enjoyed going down to visit them all the time! Thanks for the hard work and dedication!
