Masonic Lodge #648 A.F. and A.M.
The Elmer Masonic Lodge was instituted and issued a charter on September 22, 1920 by the Missouri Grand Lodge. The following are the charter members: C.I. Murry, A.D. Banning, M.E. Schindhelm, T.I. Murry, E.L. Dale, Hemmit Dale, W.T. Bailey, James W. Prentice, S.L. McDavitt, J.W. Gunnells, O.R. Gaughlan, B.F. Blackledge, J.O. Lovern, J.I. VanDyke, J.M. Wright, R.H. Seaman, S.G. Beatty, F.W. Thomas, Nat L. Johnson and Reace Wooden.
The Lodge continued to be active for 50 years. The membership reached a high of 70, then declined until 1970 at which time the organization was unable to operate and surrendered its charter. The remaining members transferred to other lodges.
