Ralph Poston Family

The Poston family (Ralph and Fay) moved from Gifford to Elmer in May 1933. Ralph was manager of the Farmer’s Exchange and later went into the produce business for himself in 1938. Their daughters, Romajean and Madeline, went to school in Elmer. Romajean graduated in 1943 and Madeline graduated in 1942. The family left Elmer in 1943 and moved to Jefferson City, where Ralph was a guard at the state prison. Ralph passed away in 1962 in Jefferson City.

Romajean and her husband George Simpson lived in Jefferson City, Madeline married Phillip Wallen, who graduated from Elmer High School in 1942.  He died in 1977 and Madeline later married Logan Thompson and lived in LaPlata.

In Elmer, Ralph and Fay enjoyed and were active in the American Legion and Auxiliary, Masonic and Easter Star Lodge and Rebecca Lodge and the Elmer Christian Church. Elmer was a good place to live and we still recall many friends there.
